The end of 2010

Depending on when and where you are reading this from, there is officially less the 24 left in the year 2010. If your anything like me, this fact surprises you because this year has officially flown bye. In this entry I am going to take a look back at this year, and what I am looking forward to in 2011.

Here is a list of all my favorite things of 2010
  1. Movie- Black Swan, It was an intense thriller that keeps you guessing until the end, plus I know for a fact that God created the perfect woman, and her name is Natalie Portman.
  2. Album- "Recovery", Eminem, Now it's no secret that I am a huge fan of rap, but I honestly couldn't stop listening to this album
  3. Concert- Jack Johnson, I don't know if it was the combination of pouring rain, the care-free sound that is Jack Johnson, or the people I went with, but this was the best show I saw all year.
  4. Best sports moment- tie between the San Antonio Saints winning the super bowl, that's right New Orleans we took y'all in when you were down so you will always be the S.A. Saints in my book, and the return of relevance to the Texas A&M football program. Only time will tell if this season lasts or was a fluke, but it was sure nice to see my Ag's make a splash on the national scene for the first time in a decade.
  5. Worst sports moment- Derrick Roland's leg coming apart. I saw this live on t.v. and have not been able to watch it again. If you haven't seen it I will like the video, viewer discretion advised.
  6. here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds0CrlLyCNw
  7. Funniest quote- "Congratulations to you", if your reading this, then "Congratulations to you". Any questions feel free to ask me.
  8. Favorite book- The Town- It's easily 100 times better then the movie, but if you think Hollywood doesn't change things, then it is not for you.
In 2010 I finished my second year of college and began my third one, they haven't kicked me out yet, thank God. I lived in an apartment for a year, and now I have my own condo. I got a legitimate job this year, and quickly got promoted. I began to realize that the older you get, the less free time you have, so cherish it while it lasts. I gained some new friends, fell out of touch with some old ones, and grew a lot as a person. I feel that as cliche as it sounds, I am actually a more mature and stronger person then I was at this time a year ago. I really can't believe how soon the "real" world will be upon me, but I am excited to see what it holds.

I look forward to sending this year off with a bang, and beginning to work through the next one. I wish you and your's a happy holiday season. If you choose to drink, which I know a lot of you will, then please don't drive. I want to see all of you very soon.
I'll see y'all in 2011

10-20-2010

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days, I got back to my home town and had some problems connecting to the Inter-web here, but its all fixed now.

This entry wont necessarily be a sports related one, so if that's why you came here then I'm sorry, but I just felt like talking a little bit about myself, and It's my blog, so I do what I want.

Let me first start off by saying that I spend way too much time not sleeping lately. I have this weird biological clock that makes me not get tired until like 4 in the morning sometimes, which is starting to become a huge issue. I can almost guarantee you that I have a form of insomnia, which causes me to have tons of alone time. For me this is a terrible thing. I have terrible self-esteem, and huge periods of time where I can just lay in my bed and let my mind think about my life is self destructive. I constantly criticize or despise where my life is now and the choices I have made to get myself here. I almost always begin to wonder about what my future holds, and what kind of man I will become. To complete the cycle I always fall asleep dreaming that I was some other person with a completely different life. This three part act only seems to happen when I stay up really late at night, which is why I stated that this is becoming a huge issue.
I don't want to turn this into a "woe is me" rant, or every one feel sad for Kyle because he is sensitive, but writing is really my only escape. Now normally I don't ever let anything I write see the light of day, remember the self-esteem issues, but I am taking a risk by putting something out in the open like this. Honestly I don't care if you read this and begin to judge or make fun of me. I am just trying to combat this the only way I know how.

If you made it this far I would like to thank you once again for taking the time to read this, I titled this blog an open look into one guy's mind, and that is what I intend to write about. If there is anyone who feels the way I do, or would like to offer any suggestions feel free to leave a comment below.

Until next time,
Khough

So you better do the right think like Spike Lee

12-15-2010
The New York Knick's had their eight game win streak snapped due to another free line jumper by Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics. If you didn't see the game I suggest you watch the highlights, since it was one of the better games of the season so far. I actually don't want to break down the game, since there are so many outlets for that, I want to answer a question I was recently asked by one of my friends. Are the Knick's back?

Yes and no,
While this seems like the ultimate cop-out answer, I think that is the proper one. The Knick's are certainly relevant for the first time in years, but tonight's game proved that they still need to develop or add a piece to challenge to Celtics or the Heat, who are finally beginning to play up to the expectations. While Amar'e Stoudemire continued to play out of his mind, the Knick's showed that they need one more piece to be able to close out a game against the best team in the Eastern Conference. At this point in the season the best they can hope for is a 2 or 3 seed in the playoffs, but that would still be a vast improvement from their last decade of play. The promise of Carmelo Anthony wanting to play in New York can only bring excitement to New York fans; however, until he puts on the jersey I won't believe it. Melo, if he comes, will certainly help the Knick's become one of the best teams in the NBA, but until then I don't give them a chance against Boston or Miami in the playoffs. Well they are certainly a viable playoff contender I wouldn't put them in the status of NBA elite. For a franchise that has won 2 NBA titles, and 8 conference titles I wouldn't say that they are "back", but this season is certainly a step in the right direction. But then again it is the Knick's so anything can happen.

Until Next Time

Intro blog

Here goes nothing,
Tonight I was told that I spend way too much time on my phone constantly checking my ESPN updates. Well there is undoubtedly some truth to that statement, I consider it a necessary step in order to achieve my career goals. I aspire to become a sports writer one day, and while I am currently majoring in communications and journalism, I need to start writing in order to get my opinions out there. Which brings us to our current location, I am creating a blog. I plan to talk about all different kinds of sporting stories and results. I will also give my ideas and opinions, while welcoming any questions or opportunities to debate. I talk about sports all the time with my friends, so why not give this a shot.
If I'm lucky enough for someone to even read this far, I to say thank your time. I just wanted to give a little intro to show you what to expect from this blog. With all that being said It's time for my first "official" post.

The "early bird" might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese. Think about that my friends,
